For All Souls

To those who walked before
The tracks left on the road,
Blood in the water, bone on the shore.

The blueprints turn to dust
Hopes stillborn and silent
Sleep without dreaming, dreams without rust.

Birth pang and battle cry
The womb, the field, the grave
Between was and will, the living lie.

The voices in the night
Whispering in the dark
The veil that once was, darkness and light.

To those who once were born,
You’re those who cannot die
Memory’s cradle, heart’s shroud is worn.

May your path bring you home
Your steps no longer seen.
The passage remains, no soul alone.
